The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna appeared in this material world just five thousand years ago. He appeared with His full potency to destroy the demoniac, save the sadhus (devine) and to re-establish religious principles.

Krishna means action, He started action on sixth day of His appearance by killing Putana. He continued to do so before leaving this material world.
